We cannot stand still. As Nature changes and evolves, so must SFPT. Future plans include further pond creation and expansion of scrub to thicken boundary hedges and provide an additional bird habitat. Bird and flora surveys have started and further surveys are currently being organised.
The land has been entered into organic conversion with the Soil Association and we have applied for inclusion in combined Organic Entry Level and Higher Level schemes with Natural England.
The Trust has the opportunity to acquire additional land that would provide a water supply for grazing livestock, access to winter housing for livestock and a way to allow controlled public access. This acquisition would almost double the size of the reserve, thus allowing sufficient area for habitats to be managed for endangered species. |
