Don't forget that your poems should be submitted by Friday, 30th September!

It has become customary to include a poem or poems in SFPT’s annual book. I feel that this tradition is worth retaining — so for 2022 I'm issuing a Chairman’s Challenge, as follows:
The name ‘Francis Simpson’ consists of 14 letters, the number of lines in a Sonnet.
Therefore, as Chairman of Trustees of Suffolk Flora Preservation Trust, I offer personally up to four prizes of an annual subscription to Suffolk Flora Preservation Trust (each worth £25.00) for acrostic sonnets, in which the initial (or last) letter of each line is a successive letter of the name: FRANCIS SIMPSON.
The subject matter may celebrate
(1) the man and his Flora of Suffolk, or
(2) Simpson’s Fromus Valley Reserve, or
(3) Orchid Glade Reserve, bought with his bequest.
Entries must be submitted to us before 30th September 2022,
by email to editorsfpt@gmail.com or by post to the Trust’s registered address at Kelsale Village Hall. It is hoped that at least the first three entries will be published in the 2022 Annual book – but possibly more, if this Challenge proves to be popular.
