The Trust's small herd of rare breed British White cattle has increased in 2019, with the birth of two heifer calves and one bull calf. November has been mild and there is still plenty of grass at our Fromus reserve, so they will stay there as long as possible.

Simpson's Fromus Reserve
Last year, the Scarfe Trust granted us funds to buy a solar-powered electric fence unit to exclude the cattle from woodland and the great bank, where their footfall could damage the ground surface. This fence is now deployed alongside Oak Avenue and Dragon Meade. They respect the white tape (electrified), even when the current is low!
